Diversion to the Three Amigos
In my last post, I mentioned that I would be away for a few days because of a 'diversion.' The diversion was a quick trip back to Ottawa to attend an informal gathering to commemorate the careers of three very good friends and colleagues. Paul, Derek and Bill are all retiring this spring/summer after serving in the Canadian Armed Forces for over three decades each. These general officers are well-respected, extremely professional and each of them has had very successful careers.
I could not miss the opportunity to attend the gathering and to congratulate each of them in person. Dozens of their friends and colleagues attended the function which is a testament to the respect each of them has earned over the years. I wish them all the best as they move on to the next phase.
